Central Indiana Housing Summit

The 8th Annual Central Indiana Housing Summit, held on Feb. 18, 2009, featured a keynote address by Drew Klacik, policy analyst with IUPUI’s Center for Urban Policy, and then three breakout sessions on the following topics: Government Consolidation, Mass Transit and Green Technology & Sustainability. MIBOR Releases Transit Study

On Oct. 23, MIBOR released a study conducted jointly with the Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce which revealed that more than 87 percent of central Indiana residents agree that additional transportation options are needed in the region. The study also found that more than 70 percent support dedicated public funding.

The study – conducted among 1,400 residents in the nine-county region by the independent research firm Strategic Marketing & Research, Inc. – was unveiled in a briefing to legislators followed by a media briefing at the Indiana History Center.
